Note: Artwork arrives unmatted and unframed unless otherwise noted. Watercolor paintings should be displayed behind protection such as glass/acrylic and should not be stored in damp environments or displayed in direct sunlight. Use care when handling the unframed pieces, as the moisture on your hands can cause the paint to reactivate. It's unlikely, but possible!
This spring, I painted a series of seashells after a beach combing on trip to Cape Cod. The paintings below are all uniformly sized and painted in the same color palette so they can be grouped together harmoniously.
12x16 watercolor on 100% cotton paper.
A late winter view of an old house and barn in Worcester, MA. The painting's title is from a poem by Robert Frost, as the scene with just a couple of patches of melting snow, immediately reminded me of Frost's words and of why I paint.
"An Old Patch of Snow"
Robert Frost
There's a patch of old snow in a corner
That I should have guessed
Was a blow-away paper the rain
Had brought to rest.
It is speckled with grime as if
Small print overspread it,
The news of a day I’ve forgotten—
If I ever read it.
